"Remember the Maine" Historical Demonstration
February 14 and 15, 2009

This memorial event pays tribute to the Americans who fought in the Spanish American War, and to the first U.S. Navy ship to bear the name TEXAS, which played a crucial role in the American Naval victory in Cuba.

Historical interpreters will stage small arms demonstrations, from flintlocks to machine guns, and you can visit encampments depicting the various eras of our nations military history.

A memorial service honoring Americans who have died in the service of our country will be held on the bow of the Battleship TEXAS at 3 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.

Accessible for wheelchairs on main deck only. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; fees free Texas State Parks Pass members, $10 non-members, $5 senior citizens, free for children 12 and under (281) 479-2431.
