The bar is attached to terra firma by a metal ramp and is completely free-floating, allowing it to rock with the occasional wave or boat wake. Keep this in mind and don't get caught by surprise, or you're likely to think you've had more drinks than you actually have.
Where to Sit
First-timers may miss the best part about the club unless they happen across the stairwell to the left of the main bar, which leads to the upper deck, with covered seating and a commanding view of Clear Lake.
With a parking lot full of Corvettes and a dock full of cigarette boats, the Turtle Club is safe harbor for Clear Lake's 40-and-over single's scene. Regulars keep the joint alive while the sun is up then the "single by choice" and single-again crowd cruises in for a night of jukebox classics, live cover bands, karaoke, darts or bikini contests--depending on the night.
The bar's galley cooks up burgers, sandwiches and even shrimp.
