Visitors to Webster will discover the best place to play, stay, and dine while enjoying the convenience of being located just off of Interstate 45. From vacation to business, travelers will find accommodations to suit their needs in one of Webster's 12 hotels. Serving up the region's best cuisine and entertainment, Webster is home to more than 100 restaurants, dozens of family amusement venues and nightlife hotspots. Boating activities and water recreation are only a short drive away and will provide hours of fun and relaxation. Bringing space "down to earth" for visitors, Space Center Houston and NASA's Johnson Space Center are just down the street and will make staying in Webster "out of this world!"

The history of Webster predates Stephen F. Austin's 1823 settlement of the area. The Karankawa Indians survived here as primitive hunter-gatherers, but the tribe was driven out by industrious settlers, who established Garden Town, later called Websterville. By the 1890s, Webster was officially the name of the town. Japanese farmer Kiyoaki Saibara helped area residents learn to grow rice, starting in the early 1900s. Saibara and his father Seito Saibara influenced the Texas rice industry for several decades. The City offers discounts for many dining and entrtainment venues. For tourism information, call 888-805-9000.
